What is the Difference between a PRE-PAID funeral and a PRE-ARRANGED funeral?
Pre-Arranging a funeral gives you peace of mind that your wishes have been heard and legally recorded so that family members will be spared the stress of trying to 'Guess' what you would have wanted. With a pre-arranged funeral, no payments are made until the funeral service.
Pre-paying a funeral Allows you to sit down with the Funeral Director of your choice and discuss your options and requirements. Once all your wishes have been established, a formal agreement is written between yourself and the funeral director and payment of the funeral is made in advance.
Please take the time to sit down and speak with us to ensure that all your questions are asked and answered and that your preferences and instructions have been left. This will ease the burden to those left behind in what is an emotional and stressful time, they will thankyou for it.
All details are kept in a confidential file and all monies pre-paid are deposited into the Funeral Plan Management fund.
Who is legally responsible for arranging a burial or cremation? Legal responsibility rests with the Executor appointed under the Will of the deceased. You should make sure your Executor is familiar with and agreeable to carrying out your wishes, and is also aware of the details of your prepaid funeral plan contract or funeral plan. If there is no valid will, in most cases, the next of kin will have the right to apply to act as the administrator of the estate and also to complete the funeral arrangements on your behalf.
